The Internet Police by Nate Anderson

The Internet Police by Nate Anderson is a recent book that is a great overview of some key technology, legal cases, and privacy issues surrounding the internet. Certainly with the explosion of the internet, crime has moved there and law enforcement has followed. This book is a very interesting overview of that battle as it has moved to the internet. Certainly the technology has become more sophisticated for the criminals and law enforcement trying to catch them.

The author also dives a bit into privacy, legal, and even Constitutional issues that are all very relevant in this day and age. An interesting book in a time where these issues are at the forefront of our awareness do to the recent whistleblower, Edward Snowden. This book is fun and enlightening for the lay person and worth your time if the topic interests you. However, I would certainly not describe it as even approaching technical comprehensiveness. So as usual Hit The Books, They Don’t Hit Back!
