1421: The Year China Discovered America by Gavin Menzies is possibly the most interesting history book I have ever read. I simply couldn’t put this book down. This history book read like a thrilling novel.
New evidence emerging over many years of Gavin’s following the trail of clues, as well as, information being pieced together by many historians tells the story of how the Chinese developed great navigation techniques, seafaring skills, and had traveled to all the continents in the world including both coast of North America 70 years before Columbus had set foot in North America. There is even evidence that after the collapse of the Chinese empire that had accomplished so much, the Chinese became isolated from the world, and the Europeans filled that void coming to America using old Chinese maps. This is an incredible, enjoyable, and worthwhile read!
